Delete your account and data
You can delete your account yourself at any time. There is no waiting period, no follow-up question and no reason you have to give.
In the app, immediately
Open the app, go to Profile and select Delete account there. The deletion is carried out immediately.
Without the app
If you have already removed the app or can no longer sign in, write to rechte@kernbite.de. State the e-mail address you signed up with. We will delete the account and reply to you as soon as it is done, and at the latest within one month, pursuant to Article 12(3) GDPR.
To protect against deletion requests by other people, we ask a follow-up question if the request comes from an address other than the one on file. This is not obstruction: without that question, anyone could have someone else's account deleted.
What is deleted
- The user account with the e-mail address and access credentials
- Body data and measured values: weight, height, body composition, activity information
- Calculated daily goals and nutritional targets
- Daily entries on weight, steps, training and mood
- Recipe preferences, dislikes and shortlists
- Membership of your household and groups
What can remain
There are two things you should know beforehand, because they cannot be undone technically.
Values that were already visible to other participants in a joint challenge cannot be retrieved from those people by the operator. They are deleted on the server; they were on other people's screens beforehand.
The server's operating logs contain technical connection data such as the IP address and the time for a short period. They are not merged with the account and expire by themselves. Further details are set out in § 3(3) and § 9 of the privacy policy.
Data that is only on your device is removed by uninstalling the app or via your phone's app settings.
Your other rights
In addition to erasure under Article 17 GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, restriction, data portability and objection. A message to rechte@kernbite.de is sufficient for these as well. The full list is set out in § 10 of the privacy policy.
